A couple weeks ago Ava had her Kindergarten orientation. Prior to going to the orientation, she mentioned she was excited to see the lockers and desk. I had to burst her bubble and tell her that in Kindergarten she wouldn't have lockers and desks. She would have a hook for her coat and backpack and they would sit at a table. She looked at me kind of confused and said "Well, what do you do in Kindergarten then." And she asked if she could start wearing make-up when she goes to Kindergarten. I asked here why she thinks she is going to have a locker. And her response was "On Hannah Montana they have lockers." I hope her idea of school isn't hanging out by her locker while wearing make-up!
She did have a good time at orientation meeting all the teachers and seeing all the rooms. I hope it gives her a better idea what to expect when she starts school. I think it made her feel better that things didn't look much different then her pre-k room that she is currently in. She loved seeing the art area in each room and all the supplies they had. . . her favorite!
And she has learned to tie her shoes, so she is all set!
